SENATOR TO SPEAK AT KINGDOM MEN MEGASUMMIT 2017

SPEAK YOUR MIND

SENATOR Adeleke Olurunnimbe Mamora will be one of the speakers at Kingdom Men Mega Summit 2017  opening in Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday, May 11 at Planet One Hotels and Hospitality, Maryland.

Specifically, the medical doctor turned politician, who was Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly at the advent of the Fourth Republic in 1999, will feature at the Theme Special on Politics and Governance on Friday afternoon.

With “Arise, Take Your Mountain” as theme, the Theme Specials are designed to discuss how Nigerian men can rise up to the challenge of increasing the influence of Christian Ethics in every sector of life described as mountains or kingdoms.

Dr Mamora is expected to speak on how this can be done in our politics and governance. While this does not mean exclusion of believers of other faiths from this crucial sector of our national life, it does mean working hard to enthrone justice, equity, probity and the culture of selfless service in policy formulation and execution. It means being in the forefront of the national war against graft, impunity and all the vices that have held us down as a people.

Mamora, a chorister at his local Baptist Church, has exemplified some of this virtues in his public life – whether as Speaker of the vibrant Lagos House of Assembly or as two-term Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or as Deputy Director of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation, which succeeded in unseating an incumbent President in 2015.

His disinclination to self service and his commitment to team play are demonstrated in the total lack of bitterness towards the leadership of his party, which denied him continuity at the Senate at a time when his chances of becoming one of the top three leaders were bright. This Christian virtue continues to sustain him in what looks like his current political wilderness experience.

Senator Mamora, who is Medical Director of Nimbus Medical Centre, Ogudu, Lagos, will be joined on the panel by another speaker of note.
